Your Experts in Sustainable Packaging

We know all about the latest European legislation for plastic and glass recyclability and the issues that impact on the packaging supply chain. Pont Packaging recognises how complicated this can be for brands that want to be responsible and minimise their environmental impact, so we’re here to support you.

Did you know that the EU targets for plastic recyclability are currently 50% by 2025 and 55% by 2030? We’re happy to share our expertise with you to smoothly navigate these rules.

Our focus on responsible packaging solutions means we can offer packaging made from 100% recyclable materials, including glass, PET and HDPE. Our innovative portfolio is always evolving to offer progressive packaging from recycled PET (rPET) and bio-based HDPE, so rest assured our values align with yours.

We embrace our 4 R pillars

  • Reduction of material.
  • Recyclability of our products.
  • Use of Recycled materials.
  • Use of Renewable Materials.

All these rules come together to minimise waste, maximise recycling and promote the circular economy.  We invite you to explore our sustainable packaging and seeing how Pont can support you in making a positive impact with your products.

Carbon Black Free

We’re really proud of our Carbon Black Free pigments as they pigments as they improve the recyclability of black and dark-coloured plastics in standard sorting. It’s a clever sustainability innovation that allows the dark plastic to be recognised on the sorting equipment, when old style carbon pigments are not detected.

Glass

Glass is in our DNA – we started as a glass packaging partner in 1906! It’s the original eco-friendly material. Endlessly recyclable without losing strength or quality, it supports a closed loop where glass jars are recycled into new glass jars, over and over again.

The 4 Rs Strategy

Pont Green & Our Four Pillars of Sustainability

We established our Pont Green Team in 2017 to formalise our commitment to environmental responsibility in everything we do. Our team collaborates will all our departments to encourage sustainability actions across the business, working with our Four Pillars of Sustainability:

Reduction of Material

Wherever we can, we reduce. We never compromise on quality. We design our products to keep products safe and extend their shelf life, helping to reduce food waste.

For example, by reducing the weight of one container by just 5 grams, we have been able to save approximately 250 kg of raw material in a single year.

Recyclability of Products

Local recycling systems vary, so we’re here to advise our customers on the most recyclable packaging solution for their local markets. Mono-polymer containers and caps are great for recycling thanks to their purity.

We’re always looking at ways to enhance the recyclability of our products, working with local institutes to gain relevant certifications, such as many of our clear PET and white HDPE containers with 100% recyclability confirmed in several countries.

Use of Recycled Materials

Smart use of recycled and renewable materials is crucial as raw materials significantly impact the carbon footprint of a product.

Our experts are here to advise on the material selection that best suits your needs, with our ever-expanding portfolio of sustainable raw materials helping to reduce CO2 emissions, and encouraging CO2 capture instead of emission where possible.

Use of Renewable Materials

Choosing renewable materials is resulting in an increase in global demand for biobased options.

We’re here to guide you through the logistics challenges so that a suitable, sustainable solution is reached, while positively impacting your overall carbon footprint and conserving fossil-based resources.
