What exactly are dosing bottles?

Dosing bottles are special bottles with one or two chambers for the precise dosing of liquids. Their design allows the user to conveniently extract defined volumes of liquid or to dose concentrates of any kind. There are generally two versions of these containers: single-neck (1 neck, 1 chamber) and double-neck (2 necks, 2 chambers).

Sometimes they are also described according to the number of openings. A patented system ensures that no liquid can escape from the bottle. Thanks to the measuring chamber, the user does not need to use a measuring jug when measuring a specific volume.

With a simple touch of the hand on the body of the bottle, the user can fill the measuring chamber. A graduated scale indicates the level in millilitres of the liquid it contains. The measured volume can then be conveniently and easily poured out. The bottle system delivers the dose without the rest of the contents of the bottle escaping through the other opening of the dosing bottle.

Plastic: a versatile and chemical-resistant material

PE-HD stands for High Density Polyethylene (PE-HD). This means that it is very dense. It is extremely stable with chemicals. These cannot affect the plastic, especially when it comes to storage. This gives the material a clear advantage over glass, which can be corroded by certain chemicals over a long period of time. PE-HD is also characterised by its high resistance to tearing, scratching and wear. These properties make this plastic the ideal material for the production of Pont dosing bottles.

The material is completely harmless from a physiological point of view. It is therefore widely used in the food industry. In addition, because PE-HD cannot degrade, it greatly increases safety. Even when dealing with hazardous substances, safe storage and preservation is ensured. In-mould fluorination: reinforced protection of the pe-hd bottle

Rigid bottles containing chemicals designated as hazardous substances can be reinforced from the inside using the In-Mould fluorination technique. This technique, used in the chemical industry, consists of introducing a concentration of fluorine at the PE-HD blow moulding stage. The fluorinated barrier, created by chemical modification of the inner surface of the container, has the characteristic of creating an additional impermeable layer inside the bottle. This provides bi-directional protection against migration of both the container and the contents. This barrier technology has a triple benefit:

It maintains the recyclability properties of the bottle, which remains recyclable in the same stream as other standard PE-HD containers,
It does not alter the shape or capacity of the bottle or can,
It is easy to implement, as it uses PE-HD, which is a standard polymer.

It is relevant for increasing the strength and durability of dosing bottles, canisters and other containers, and maintains the integrity of the packaging for improved safety in use and over time. It is specifically recommended for protection against oil-based solvents or chemicals that may cause discolouration or fading of the plastic. The PE-HD bottle treated in this way is an ideal solution for so-called difficult liquids: phytosanitary products, petroleum-based products, etc.

Customised bottles

Pont’s standard dosing bottle is supplied in a natural colour. However, there are several possibilities to customise these containers to create an individual packaging solution. For example, a company logo can be applied. In addition to enhancement by engraving or stamping, customers can also give this product a unique, company-specific look through individual colour matching.

Sleeving, in which the containers are wrapped in full-body sleeves, is an additional possibility to use the surface of the dosing bottles for communication and advertising. Pont Emballage has an in-house technical development office that works with the customer to customise the desired product. On the way to the customised packaging solution, the idea goes through several stages: from the manual sketch and the concept to the tools and production, via the 3D model and the test.

They are available in different versions and sizes from 50 millilitres to 1,000 millilitres.
